Online Car Purchase Scam in Osijek

The Osijek police are searching for an unknown scammer who defrauded employees of an Osijek company of 31 thousand euros in an attempted online car purchase. During March, the purchase of a vehicle was agreed upon, the money was transferred, but the car was never delivered, and the seller disappeared. The police are actively working to find the perpetrator.

Political Perspectives:

Left: Left-leaning outlets emphasize the vulnerability of small businesses to online scams and call for stronger consumer protection laws and better regulation of online marketplaces to prevent such frauds.

Center: Center-leaning sources report the facts straightforwardly, focusing on the police investigation and warning the public to be cautious when making online purchases, especially of high-value items like cars.

Right: Right-leaning media highlight the personal responsibility of buyers to verify sellers and suggest that such crimes reflect broader issues of law enforcement efficiency and the need for stricter penalties for fraudsters.
