Exactly 55 years ago in Malesija, in the village of Tuzi, an important meeting was held aimed at eradicating the custom of blood feud, which had long been a problem in various parts of Montenegro. The meeting was attended by prominent locals from several villages as well as government representatives. It was agreed that blood feud must be eradicated and that killers should be judged by state laws, not customs. This agreement led to a significant reduction and then almost complete eradication of blood feud in Malesija and other parts of Montenegro where this custom had existed for centuries.
