journalists-blocked-in-kosjeric-after-local-elections

After local elections in Kosjerić and Zaječar, journalists from certain media outlets including Novosti, Informer, Prva, Pink, N1, Studio B, and Alo were blocked inside the Kosjerić municipal building by opposition supporters and students. Police intervened to separate the groups and allow the journalists to leave. The situation was tense, with eggs thrown at the building and noise being made. On the other hand, journalists from opposition media were able to report freely outside the building. In Zaječar, SNS supporters celebrated their victory, while opposition groups made noise and clashes occurred, which police separated. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that SNS achieved a convincing victory in Zaječar and a victory in Kosjerić, although the result in Kosjerić was close.

Political Perspectives:

Left: Left-leaning media emphasize the blocking of journalists from certain media outlets by opposition supporters as a suppression of press freedom and highlight the tense atmosphere and police intervention. They may also focus on the unequal treatment of journalists from different political affiliations.

Center: Centrist media report the events factually, describing the blocking of journalists, the police involvement, and the election results without strong bias. They present the situation as tense but under control, noting the celebrations and protests by different political groups.

Right: Right-leaning media emphasize the victory of the ruling SNS party in both Kosjerić and Zaječar, highlighting the legitimacy of the election results. They may downplay the blocking incident or frame it as a reaction to opposition provocations, stressing the success of the government and the president’s statements.
