Truck Delays at Serbia’s Šid Border Crossing

According to reports from the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia (AMSS) and the Border Police Administration, freight vehicles exiting Serbia at the Šid border crossing are waiting about three hours. Similar delays are reported at other crossings such as Horgoš and Kelebija, with waiting times ranging from two to four hours. Passenger vehicles at the Batrovci crossing experience delays of up to half an hour. This information indicates increased traffic and possible congestion at Serbia’s borders.

Political Perspectives:

Left: Left-leaning outlets tend to emphasize the impact of border delays on workers and small businesses, highlighting the need for better infrastructure and government intervention to ease traffic and support economic activity.

Center: Center-leaning sources report the facts straightforwardly, focusing on the current waiting times and official statements from the AMSS and border police, without much editorializing or political framing.

Right: Right-leaning media may frame the delays as a consequence of bureaucratic inefficiency or external factors affecting Serbia’s sovereignty and border control, sometimes linking it to broader issues of national security and economic independence.
