The Government of Serbia has decided to develop a spatial plan for the construction of sector C of the E70 highway, which includes a section of the bypass around Belgrade and Pančevo, as well as the construction of a road-rail bridge over the Danube near Vinča. This transport infrastructure will be part of an integrated road-rail corridor aimed at significantly improving connectivity between the southern and eastern parts of Belgrade and Banat. The plan covers several municipalities and the city of Pančevo, with a 12-month deadline for the draft. Funding is provided by the Public Enterprise Roads of Serbia, and the draft will be subject to public review. The plan also includes a strategic environmental impact assessment and protection of immovable cultural heritage.
