The number of ultra-wealthy individuals is constantly increasing, while the number of those living below the poverty line has remained unchanged since 1990. Professor Veljko Mijušković from the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade points to the decline of the middle class and the growth of economic disparities. Dominant income from investments grows faster than the wages of the middle class, contributing to further stratification. Innovations, such as cryptocurrencies and green technologies, contribute to wealth growth, while geopolitical situations and global conflicts influence wealth concentration.
