Initiative for Amendments to the Labor Law in Montenegro

The Association of Municipalities of Montenegro has submitted an initiative to the Ministry of Labor for amendments and supplements to the Labor Law aimed at modernizing and improving the legal framework. The initiative highlights issues such as excluding the obligation to pay for health capability certificates for candidates, more precise regulation of the selection of directors of public institutions, more efficient delivery of acts to employees, equal treatment of local officials in exercising rights, suspension of employment relations, and removal of ambiguities in disciplinary procedures. The proposed amendments are based on real practice and court cases that have led to reduced legal certainty and functionality of local government work. The Association of Municipalities expects feedback on further proceedings.
