Payments for Textbooks for First Graders Begin in Čačak

The city of Čačak is starting payments for free textbooks for first graders as part of supporting education and easing costs for parents. Mayor Milun Todorović states that 10 million dinars have been allocated in the budget for this purpose, and after first graders, payments will follow for other grades. This measure is part of broader support for families and education in the city, including scholarships for pupils and students.

Political Perspectives:

Left: Left-leaning outlets emphasize the social support aspect of the free textbook program, highlighting it as a measure to reduce educational inequality and support families with children. They focus on the positive impact on low-income families and the importance of investing in education for a better future.

Center: Center-leaning sources report the facts of the program, noting the budget allocation and the administrative process. They present the initiative as a practical support measure by the local government without strong political framing, focusing on the benefits for families and the community.

Right: Right-leaning media may highlight the responsible budgeting and efficient use of city funds, emphasizing the role of local government leadership in supporting education. They might also frame the program as an investment in the community’s future and a demonstration of good governance.
