Customs found €25,000 in shoes at border check.

Customs officers at the Bajakovo border crossing discovered an attempt to illegally bring in 25,000 euros hidden in the shoes of a driver of a Croatian freight vehicle. The money was concealed to avoid declaration, which is a violation of the Foreign Exchange Act. The driver was issued a misdemeanor notice and fined 13,260 euros, of which he immediately paid 8,840 euros.
