Third Defeat of Montenegro’s U20 Water Polo Team at the World Championship

Montenegro’s U20 water polo team suffered their third defeat at the World Championship in Zagreb, losing to the USA team 5-11. After losses to Hungary and Croatia, Montenegro finished fourth in their group and advanced to the knockout stage, where they will compete for a quarterfinal spot against the winner of the Australia-China match. In the game against the USA, the better performance of the American team in the second and last quarters was decisive, as they made a series of goals and gained a lead they maintained until the end. The top scorer for the USA was William Schneider with four goals, while Montenegro’s goals were scored by Ivan Marković and Tim Perov (two each), and Danilo Dragović, Milan Nikaljević, Danilo Stupar, Nikola Petrović, Nebojša Petrović, and Draško Samardžić (one each).
