DPS MP Mihailo Anđušić criticized the government for failing to fulfill promises regarding limited prices, noting that in the past two months prices of bread, utilities, and fuel have increased. He emphasized that the only government mechanism to prevent inflation was the limited price action, but after the May 15 deadline, only price increases occurred. According to Monstat data, prices of key products and services are on average about 4% higher compared to the same period last year. Anđušić described the economy as being in a state of artificial coma.
Political Perspectives:
Left: Left-leaning sources emphasize the failure of the government to protect citizens from inflation and rising living costs, highlighting the negative impact on ordinary people and criticizing the government’s economic policies as ineffective and favoring elites.
Center: Center-leaning sources report the facts about price increases and government measures neutrally, focusing on official data and statements from politicians without strong editorializing, presenting the situation as a challenge for the government to manage inflation.
Right: Right-leaning sources may focus on criticizing the government’s interventionist policies, arguing that market forces should determine prices and that government attempts to limit prices are ineffective or harmful, possibly blaming government mismanagement for economic difficulties.
