In 2024, the European car market recorded a symbolic growth of less than 1%. Volkswagen led sales among brands, while the Dacia Sandero was the best-selling model. Hybrid cars and Chinese brands contributed to this growth. Although nearly 13 million new vehicles were sold, the market was still recovering from the pandemic, with a 1.2% decline in sales of electric vehicles (BEV). Norway maintained the largest market share of electric vehicles. SUVs accounted for almost 54%.
