Behold, a young great white shark caught in Montenegro, only the third time in nearly 30 years! Yes, you read that right, this queen of the seas is so rare in the Adriatic that her catch is a real sensation. While it sounds like a marine apocalypse is looming, attacks on humans are extremely rare – the last fatal attack happened over 30 years ago near the island of Vis. So why all the panic? Maybe because this species is critically endangered and hunting it is banned in most Mediterranean countries, including Montenegro. So instead of freaking out, maybe we should appreciate this rare visitor and understand how important it is for the ecosystem. Or are you team shark hunt? Come on, comment below – are you for protection or for hunting? What’s your take on these sea giants?
