Increased Inspection Oversight in Montenegro’s Coastal Municipalities

Montenegro’s authorities are not playing around this summer! With a whopping 80 inspectors on the ground across six coastal municipalities from Budva to Ulcinj, a crackdown on the shadow economy, unfair competition, and anyone trying to scam tourists and the state is underway. Labor, market, tourism, and health inspectors are all on the job, working four shifts daily! Fines from April and May have already topped €47,000, and an even tougher crackdown is coming. Will this finally put an end to black labor and illegal practices, or is it just a public relations stunt? Jump into the debate and tell us — are these inspectors the new heroes or just another bureaucratic circus?
