Archbishop knew of priest’s abuse, took no action for months.

The Archbishop of Đakovo-Osijek, Đuro Hranić, was aware of the case of a pedophile priest from the Vukovar district, but took no action for 14 months and reinstated him after his release from prison. Priest Zlatko Rajčevac was accused of abusing five minors, but the trial did not take place because he passed away in 2021. The Archdiocese of Đakovo-Osijek stated that Hranić believes he acted in accordance with church and state regulations.
