While the US holds over 50% of the total NATO economy and is pushing other member states to allocate 5% of their GDP to defense (yes, you read that right, 5%, not 2%!), Europe seems to be waking up—but is it a real awakening or just bluffing? Seven or eight countries that were below 2% GDP defense spending will now hit that mark by the end of the year, all thanks to Trump’s “brave and decisive” intervention, according to NATO’s Secretary General. And let’s not forget, NATO has already allocated 35 billion euros to aid Ukraine in the first six months of this year! All this while Trump acts like he’s in a reality show and the world watches.
