Zagreb in Shock: Zagreb Parking Employee Spied for Drug Boss!
Imagine this: an employee at Zagreb Parking, who is supposed to uphold order and law, was actually a spy for criminals! Yes, you read that right. Ivan Brkić, the brother of the late Toni Brkić, a murdered criminal figure, has been arrested for leaking secret data from the official system to people connected with the criminal underworld.
How Did It All Start?
Uskok and PNUSKOK launched a new anti-corruption and organized crime operation in Zagreb and Split. At the center of the investigation is this Zagreb Parking employee, who, using access to official databases, leaked information about vehicles and their owners. This information was allegedly used to check if the police were tracking certain cars, giving criminals a huge advantage.
Sky ECC – Once Secure, Now Exposed
What’s even more shocking is that the information was transmitted via the Sky ECC app, once one of the most secure encrypted communication platforms for criminals worldwide. However, after the police cracked the Sky ECC security system, they gained massive insight into criminal networks, leading to mass arrests, including this employee.
Who Else Was Arrested?
Besides Ivan Brkić, other suspects connected to drug boss Nenad Petrak were arrested, including Davor Bubić, known as Popaj, a childhood friend of Marko Livaja. Also arrested was Marinko Zovko, son of a hotel and gas station owner, known as the “oil king” in Sesvete, along with three others.
Reactions and Consequences
Zagreb Holding immediately responded, announcing that the employee will be suspended and denied access to all databases. If the charges are confirmed, disciplinary measures will be taken against him.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Davor Božinović emphasized that this operation proves institutions are effectively fighting corruption and crime.
What Does This Mean for Us?
This scandal casts a dark shadow over institutions that are supposed to protect law and order. If public service employees can be accomplices to criminals, who’s next? How many more such cases are we unaware of?
Conclusion
This investigation is just the tip of the iceberg in the fight against corruption and organized crime in Croatia. But until criminals and their accomplices are caught and punished, citizens will remain at risk.
