Dejan Pantelić, one of the most recognizable and beloved TV hosts in our region, suddenly vanished from the screens, leaving the audience shocked and in tears. His career spanned over three decades, filled with positive energy and a cheerful spirit, but it ended unexpectedly and emotionally. In January two years ago, Pantelić gave his final on-screen message: “This is the last time I’m addressing you, stay tuned to Prva and the show Uta, we’ll see each other again.” Although he stepped away from the camera, he didn’t completely leave television — he now works behind the scenes in directing, where he clearly fits perfectly.
His battle with a serious illness, a tumor in his tonsils, became public knowledge in 2021. After months of treatment and surgery abroad, Dejan emerged victorious, with his wife being a huge support. However, the effects of chemotherapy and surgery took their toll — Pantelić admitted his voice became hoarse, and it was time to put an end to his on-camera career.
His new TV station, B92, welcomed him with open arms, and colleagues are thrilled with his presence and witty approach at work. On Instagram, his humorous graphics with colleagues surfaced, showing that Dejan is still in full work mode, just now behind the scenes.
