Nenad Lalatović, known for his charisma and energy, has taken over as the head coach of Montenegro’s champion Budućnost Podgorica. His first mission? The Champions League qualifiers against Armenian side Noe. Lalatović arrives with a wealth of experience — he has coached clubs in Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and now he’s ready to shake up Montenegrin football.
After 14 years working across three countries, Lalatović is set to prove what it means to be a true strategist and leader. His reputation as a determined and charismatic coach is already stirring reactions, and Budućnost believes his dedication and experience will be a winning combo for the club.
But Lalatović isn’t just a coach — he’s a former player with a rich career. He came through Red Star Belgrade’s youth system, captained a generation alongside Nemanja Vidić, played for Ukrainian Shakhtar Donetsk and German Wolfsburg, and was a Yugoslav international. His on-field experience can be crucial in tough moments for the team.
Besides Lalatović, Budućnost considered other candidates like Miodrag Božović and Viktor Trenevski, but ultimately decided to entrust the team to Lalatović. The club officially announced his arrival, calling it the start of a new era for Budućnost.
The team will prepare in Slovenia, and in July, Podgorica’s side will play two Champions League qualifying matches. Everyone at the club and fans are eagerly waiting to see how Lalatović will lift Budućnost to a higher level and bring the long-awaited success.
Will Nenad Lalatović be the one to break the dominance of others and bring a title with attitude? One thing’s for sure — with him on the bench, Budućnost won’t be the same. What do you think?
