This year, he organized a summer trip for hundreds of parentless kids from Serbia — and not just any trip, but a luxurious one with pocket money and all the bells and whistles. The first group of kids already left, and the second group, with nearly a hundred little ones, just set off to Montenegro. Mitrović personally saw them off and promised to visit them at the seaside, where they have the best hotels, a boat for water sports, and everything they need to feel like royalty.
This charity event, “Summer for All,” has become a tradition that changes the lives of children from eight Belgrade institutions and all homes across Serbia. Every child received pocket money, and caregivers made sure everything went smoothly. Mitrović emphasizes how important it is to give parentless kids joy and a sense of belonging, as it can make up for what they lack — parental love and care.
But let’s be honest — how many people in Serbia actually know about this? While politicians bicker and create scandals, kids without parents enjoy the sea, sun, and the attention given by one man. Is it enough? Of course not! But it’s a start. Mitrović says solidarity is key, and we all need to do more for these kids.
