Summer in Zemun: Pontoon Bridge, Lido Beach, and Military Maneuvers on the Danube

Dear citizens of Zemun and all summer lovers! Starting July 1st, the traditional swimming season opens at Lido beach in Zemun, and this year it’s not just any event. The river flotilla of the Serbian land army has set up a pontoon bridge several hundred meters long, with a load capacity of 20 tons! Yes, you read that right — 20 tons! This bridge is not just a bridge, it’s a full-on military operation on the Danube, lasting until the end of August, after which it will be dismantled and returned to its home garrison.

Safety? Rescue teams and medical services are on duty 24/7, because citizen safety is a priority. The beach will be equipped with sand sports fields, drinking water, and showers. All this in cooperation with the relevant institutions.

But wait, there’s more! The Great War Island and Zemun quay will come alive with the “Summer Lido” event, offering a diverse program for all ages.

While Belgrade prepares for summer on the water, the Serbian army shows it’s not just for war tasks but also for citizens’ summer enjoyment. Are you ready to cross the pontoon bridge and enjoy summer fun? Or will you stay home and watch others have fun? Drop a comment, let’s see who the real summer warrior is!
