Stuck in a Chimney Because of a Dog? Welcome to the Weirdest Night at Rockwell Park!
Picture this: it’s nighttime, the park’s restroom doors automatically lock at 10 PM, and you’re stuck in a chimney trying to rescue your dog who got locked inside. Sounds like a bad movie scene, right? But nope, this actually happened in Bristol!
Firefighters had to come to the rescue and pull a man out of the chimney of the Mrs. Rockwell pavilion, a building named after the park’s benefactor. The damage to the chimney was estimated between 5 and 10 dollars — probably the smallest problem in this crazy story.
Police were initially called for a burglary report because park staff thought someone was trying to break in. Instead, they found a man stuck in a chimney! He was arrested for burglary, unlawful entry, and property damage but was not injured. He was released on bail and must appear in court on July 7.
Park coordinator Erika Benoa explained that the restroom doors are a new type and automatically lock every night. It’s unclear how the dog got locked inside or how long the man was stuck in the chimney. Luckily, the dog was unharmed.
This bizarre incident caused quite a stir and led to cooperation between park staff, police, and firefighters to prevent similar mishaps in the future. Erika stressed the importance of calling the police immediately in such situations to avoid unnecessary chaos.
Is this the dumbest burglary ever? Maybe! But one thing’s for sure — if you ever get stuck in a chimney because of your dog, you better have a good reason and a good lawyer!
