Minister uses official car for lunch, apologizes, repays $750.

The New South Wales Minister of Transport, Jo Haylen, apologized after using an official driver for a private trip that cost $750. Haylen admitted the mistake and promised to repay the money. The trip lasted 13 hours and included a lunch in Hunter Valley. Although the use of the car was in accordance with the guidelines, Premier Chris Minns stated that it was unacceptable and called for changes in the rules. The opposition has called for the minister’s resignation.
