Welcome to the world where Serbian art and music not only survive but dominate the international stage! The Slavianski Bazaar arts festival in Vitebsk, Belarus, opens its doors on July 10th, and Serbia is ready to show its teeth with a whopping 38 works by 24 contemporary painters. Yes, you read that right – 24 artists, including names like Jovan I. Rakidžić, Miodrag Miša Jelić, and Dragan Martinović Marti, are set to light up the stage and canvases! But wait, there’s more – the festival is also famous for its young performers’ competition, where our singers like Filip Žmaher, Svetlana Slavković, and Željko Joksimović have already snagged the Grand Prix. Coincidence? Or proof that Serbia’s talent is indestructible? Tanja Banjanin, Jelena Tomašević, and Irina Arsinijević are just some of the first prize winners, while Dušan Svilar, Anđela Tasić, and Stefan Zdravković have proudly represented our country. The festival also featured compositions by legends like Kornelije Kovač and Đorđe Marjanović, and the film program included hits starring Ivan Bosiljčić, Milan Marić, and Miloš Biković. Jury members, including our own representative Irina Arsinijević, a final-year music faculty student, carefully picked the best. Sounds like a fairy tale? Nope, it’s reality! If you think this is just another ordinary festival, think again. Serbia doesn’t just send its artists and singers; it sends them to win and conquer hearts in Belarus. So, are you proud or jealous? Drop your thoughts below – maybe you know the next big star waiting to shine at this prestigious festival!
