Study Visit to Novi Sad Parks for Future Cultural Event Managers

Novi Sad Parks as a Classroom for Future Cultural Event Managers? You Bet!

Did you know that parks in Novi Sad have turned into classrooms for young producers and cultural managers? Yes, you read that right! The “Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture” Foundation organized a two-day study visit to the parks as part of the “parks4all” project, aimed at strengthening cultural cooperation between Serbia and Hungary and developing innovative projects in public green spaces.

What Happened?

On June 24 and 25, a group of young people aspiring to become cultural event managers had the chance to see firsthand how parks can be used as venues for festivals and other cultural events. Milica Raskonjković, the project coordinator of “parks4all,” emphasized that this activity is an important step in jointly thinking about sustainable cultural models in public spaces.

Why Does It Matter?

In a world where culture is often pushed aside, projects like this are a beacon of hope. They not only promote cultural cooperation between countries but also encourage young people to think innovatively about using spaces accessible to everyone. Parks are not just places for walks and relaxation; they can become epicenters of cultural events that bring communities together.

What’s Next?

Field experiences will be key to further developing festivals within the “parks4all” project. We can expect Novi Sad, as the European Capital of Culture, to continue being an example of how public spaces can be creatively and sustainably used for cultural needs.

Conclusion

If you thought parks were just for dogs and picnics, think again! Novi Sad is showing how green spaces can become centers of cultural life. What do you think about such projects? Would you like to see more initiatives like this in your city? Drop a comment, share your thoughts, or just make a friend laugh with this idea — because culture is all around us, you just need to know where to look!
