Hellish Heat and Power Outages in Belgrade: Are We Ready for Summer Chaos?

Belgrade is melting, and the power is going out! Could this be the worst combo for summer? Elektrodistribucija Beograd announced power outages in the Zvezdara municipality, specifically at Preševska 31, due to maintenance work. Perfect timing, right when we need air conditioning the most to survive these hellish heat waves! While thermometers soar and people seek refuge in the shade or on Halkidiki’s beaches, Belgrade faces yet another problem – power cuts. Extreme heat isn’t just uncomfortable; it’s dangerous. Experts warn to dress properly and prepare your body for unusual heat waves. Doctors like Dr. Borović and Dr. Macura are giving survival tips, but many wonder how long they’ll have to wait for their AC repairs, because without power, the AC is useless!

Unfortunately, that’s not the only issue. The streets are rife with violence, protests have weakened, but General Luković and the police vow not to allow violence on the streets. Meanwhile, people struggle on the forgotten edges of existence, living for decades in homes without basic living conditions.

Is this the picture of Belgrade today? Hellish heat, power outages, violence, and forgotten people? If you think summer is a time to relax, think again. This city is burning on multiple fronts, and we’re just spectators. How are you surviving these heat waves and power cuts? Share your stories, maybe together we’ll find a solution or at least a good reason to laugh during these crazy days!
