Construction of Veterans’ Home Begins in Kruševac: Finally a Place for Heroes and Disabled

Kruševac finally has a reason to celebrate! After decades of waiting, the cornerstone was laid today for the construction of the Veterans’ Home – a building that will finally provide a worthy space for veterans and associations of persons with disabilities. Yes, you read that right, the place that used to be an art studio will now become a center for those who defended our freedom and survived the horrors of war. Defense Minister Bratislav Gašić expressed pride but also sorrow that this wasn’t done earlier. “Let those who fell defending freedom forgive us, and we who survived did not take enough care of them,” Gašić said.

Why does this matter? Because veterans and persons with disabilities have been neglected for years, lacking adequate space for gathering and work. The new facility in Kruševac will be multifunctional and adapted to their needs, a big step forward. Until now, the former studio space was devastated and unusable, but now the story is changing.

This investment is not just a building – it’s a symbol of respect and gratitude to those who gave so much for our country. Though it may be late, better late than never, right? What do you think? Is the state finally starting to realize how important veterans and persons with disabilities are? Or is this just another empty story? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s for and who’s against!

And if you thought this was the end, think again – this is the beginning of a new era for Kruševac and its heroes. Stay tuned for more news and don’t forget to share your thoughts, because topics like this deserve to be heard loud and clear!
