The famous Serbian painter Uroš Predić, inspired by this story, painted in 1919 the renowned painting where the Kosovo Maiden tends to the wounded knight Pavle Orlović. The painting became a symbol of the Serbian vow, morality, and spiritual elevation. The model for the maiden’s figure was Leposava Stanković, a woman of strong character and distinct facial features, who kept a reproduction of the painting until her death in 1975.
