Looks like Serbian tennis fans have a reason to worry! Olga Danilović, Serbia’s top-ranked player, has dropped from 37th to 39th place in the latest WTA rankings. Yes, you read that right — she slipped two spots! While Olga struggles to keep her form, Belarusian powerhouse Arina Sabalenka continues to dominate the top spot with a whopping 11,000 points.
It’s not just Olga facing trouble. The second-best Serbian player, Nina Stojanović, plummeted 14 places, and Lola Radivojević fell three spots. Seems like Serbian players are struggling to keep pace with the global elite.
At the top, besides Sabalenka, are American stars Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula with 7,000 and 6,000 points respectively, while Italy’s Jasmine Paolini and China’s Qinwen Zheng hold the fourth and fifth spots.
The top 10 is a true international mix: American Madison Keys, Russian Mira Andreeva, Polish Iga Świątek, Spanish Paula Badosa, and another American, Emma Navarro, round out the list.
Will Olga bounce back to her former glory, or is Serbian tennis on a downward spiral? What do you think — is this the end for our ladies or just a rough patch? Drop your thoughts below, let’s see who’s the optimist and who’s the pessimist in this tennis saga!
