Today, the roads of Pančevo and Čačak witnessed multiple traffic accidents that once again highlight the dire state of road safety. In Pančevo, around 4 PM, a driver crossed into the opposite lane and caused a collision that injured two people. Thankfully, their injuries are not life-threatening. The injured were rushed to the General Hospital in Pančevo for medical care. Police confirmed that an investigation is underway and the relevant prosecutor’s office has been notified. The message to drivers is clear: hit the road rested and focused, because just a moment of carelessness can have serious consequences.
On the same day, a serious accident occurred on the old Čačak-Kraljevo road near Zablaće. Three passenger vehicles were involved, and two females, a mother and daughter, were taken to the General Hospital in Čačak. The mother suffered severe injuries, including a fractured femur, and was admitted to the intensive care unit, while the daughter sustained minor injuries and was released for home treatment. Traffic on that section was completely halted during the investigation, with police and emergency services on site.
These accidents are not isolated incidents but part of a broader problem with road safety in Serbia. Drivers often ignore rules, drive recklessly, or under the influence, and the consequences are visible everywhere. Will the authorities finally take serious action, or will we keep counting the injured and dead?
