Yes, you read that right – more than half! In big German cities, the price per scoop can exceed €1.50, sometimes hitting €2 or more, while most people are only willing to pay between €1 and €1.50. Only 6% would pay over €2. This isn’t just a complaint – it’s an ice cream war!
Why has ice cream become a luxury? Summer is here, and so is ice cream season, but Germans are clearly fed up with the high prices of their favorite summer treat. Chocolate remains the top flavor, followed by vanilla, stracciatella, hazelnut, and lemon. But while enjoying these flavors, many wonder if they can even afford this indulgence.
