Bogoljub Marković: The New Serbian NBA Talent Who Wowed Milwaukee!
Have you heard of Bogoljub Marković? If not, it’s time to meet the new Serbian basketball phenom who has impressed the Milwaukee Bucks! The 19-year-old, also known as Bogi, was picked 47th overall in the second round of the NBA draft, and Milwaukee’s assistant general manager, Milt Newton, couldn’t hide his excitement.
Why Bogoljub?
Newton explained that Milwaukee’s international scouts have been tracking Marković for at least four years before the draft. Last summer, he even trained with Milwaukee but chose to return to Serbia for another season. His athletic build, shooting ability, basketball IQ, and feel for the game make him special. He averaged 13.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game in the Adriatic League with Mega, where he won the Most Promising Player award.
What does the assistant GM say?
“He has the skills and skill level to be a very good NBA player,” said Newton. “We see him as a very mobile power forward who can build around the rim, score in transition, and pass the ball well. He has great ball handling.”
Serbian basketball back on top!
Mega has further solidified its status as the European club with the most NBA draftees, and Marković is the latest proof that Serbia continues to produce top talents for the NBA. His story is just beginning.
What’s next?
Marković is expected to sign with Milwaukee soon and start his journey toward NBA stardom. Will he live up to the high expectations? Judging by the praise from Milwaukee, the odds are good.
