New Madness: How Much Will Administrative Fees Cost Us From July 1?

Dear readers, brace yourselves for another hit to your wallet! Starting July 1st this year, administrative fees in Serbia are getting new, “brilliant” prices that will make you wonder if bureaucracy has become a luxury. The Tax Administration announced that the fee for submitting an application, unless otherwise prescribed by law, will amount to a few dinars, while the certificate of residency for the purpose of applying international agreements on avoiding double taxation will cost individuals 2 dinars and legal entities a whopping 6 dinars. Yes, you read that right – 2 and 6 dinars! But the drama doesn’t stop there. An appeal against the Tax Administration’s decision in administrative proceedings will cost you 2 dinars, while issuing certificates or confirmations will be charged a few more dinars. If you need a copy of some act, get ready to pay half the fee of the original, and the request for issuing a tax certificate or deferring tax debt payment has its own special fees in similar, “pleasant” figures. All in all, administrative fees have received new prices that sound like they’re from another world, but are the reality from July 1st. Is this another way to remind us how expensive and complicated bureaucracy is? Or just another reason to wonder where our money is going? Either way, if you thought fees were small before, get ready for new numbers that will make you laugh or cry. So, what do you think about these new fees? Are they real or just another bureaucratic trick? Drop a comment, let’s see who’s for and who’s against this administrative madness!
