Welcome to Montenegro, the land where traffic turns into a nightmare! Today, drivers across the country can expect increased vehicle frequency, but that’s not even the worst news. The Auto-Moto Association of Montenegro (AMSCG) warns that many roads are in total chaos due to ongoing works and traffic closures.
On the regional road Đurđevića Tara – Mojkovac, at the place called Sokolovina, traffic is completely stopped due to rockfalls, and repairs are ongoing. Don’t forget road R16 Plužine – Virak, where traffic will be closed in three time slots during the day due to road resurfacing.
The reconstruction of road R29 Bar – Kamenički most Krute brings more closures, while on main roads M2, M3, and M6 traffic is alternating on one lane or the traffic regime is changed due to works and landslide repairs.
In Podgorica, Vojsavljevića street is closed due to boulevard construction, and vehicles are redirected to alternative routes. On some sections of main roads, traffic is either two-way or one-way depending on the works, which further complicates the situation.
AMSCG advises drivers to plan longer trips early in the morning or late in the afternoon and to take more frequent breaks, as traffic jams and delays are inevitable.
This is not just a traffic problem; it’s a real nightmare for everyone moving around Montenegro. Will these works ever stop? Will traffic normalize? Or will we be forever trapped in this endless maze of works and closures?
If you’re already stuck in one of these traffic traps, share your experience! Who knows, maybe together we’ll find a way out of this chaos or at least get a good laugh while stuck in the queue.
