Vidovdan Protest at Slavija: Students and Patriots Rise Against the Regime!
Tonight, Belgrade’s Slavija square turned into a battlefield of voices where history clashed with the present. Nikola Marčetić, a music student, didn’t come to stay silent – he came to shake the regime and prove that freedom isn’t asked for, it’s fought for!
“Our fight against the regime does not serve the people,” Marčetić declared, emphasizing that today’s Vidovdan is not just a day of remembrance but a vow of a generation that will never kneel before injustice. “We don’t seek punishment, we seek justice!”
He called on everyone to unite in the fight for freedom, shouting loud slogans like “Freedom will thunder!” and “All as one, end of victory!” He reminded the crowd of centuries of Serbian struggle, from Tsar Lazar to today, stressing that freedom is not a gift but the fruit of fighting tyranny and injustice.
But Nikola wasn’t alone. Dejan Bodiroga, former Serbian basketball star and EuroLeague president, stood shoulder to shoulder with the students. Bodiroga highlighted Vidovdan as a symbol of the nation’s conscience and resistance to tyranny. “Today, patriotism is spoken by those disgusted by theft, arrogance, and betrayal,” Bodiroga said, condemning those who label youth as “terrorists” while protecting criminals.
Rector Đokić added that students are “playing the end of a darkness” and that their nonviolent struggle is the path to deep change.
This protest isn’t just another gathering – it’s the voice of youth who refuse to be silent, who won’t back down from injustice, and who are ready to fight for Serbia’s future. While the regime tries to silence freedom’s voices, students and patriots at Slavija show that the time for change has come.
If you think this is just another protest, think again. This is a call to wake up, to fight, and to choose – between darkness and light, between injustice and justice. So, what about you? Ready to join or just watching from the sidelines?
