Fires in Podgorica: Flames Devour the City, Wind Fans the Blaze!

Podgorica is on fire, and firefighters are battling wind and human negligence! In the past few days, fires have erupted in multiple locations around Montenegro’s capital, including Grbavace, Izvoriste Bolje Sestre, Most Luča, and Kokoti. Firefighters are on the ground with four vehicles and eight brave firefighters, while the Ministry of Interior’s aviation helicopter unit provides aerial support. But the wind, that relentless enemy, fans the flames and makes extinguishing the fires harder. One fire front has been completely put out, but another is spreading due to strong winds. Fortunately, no houses are threatened, but smoke and fear are everywhere.

On the city’s outskirts near Most Luča, the situation is similar — thick black smoke rises as firefighters struggle against strong winds that hinder their efforts. Two teams totaling eight firefighters are on site, but the wind shows no signs of easing. Fires have also broken out in the Kokoti neighborhood and the municipalities of Tuzi and Zeta. Podgorica’s mayor, Saša Mujović, urges citizens to refrain from activities that could cause or spread fires. He thanked firefighters from Nikšić and Bar for their quick response, as well as the Directorate for Protection and Rescue of the Ministry of Interior.

People, it’s clear that most of these fires are caused by human factors! Is it possible we still haven’t learned? While firefighters fight the flames and wind, some still recklessly start fires. This situation is not just a problem for firefighters but for all of us. Will we wait for something terrible to happen before we start acting responsibly?

Aerial support is essential, but the wind is wreaking havoc. The Ministry of Interior’s aviation helicopter unit is on site, but strong winds make aerial firefighting difficult. Firefighters are exhausted but persistent. Houses are safe, but what about nature, animals, and our health? Smoke spreads, bringing danger to us all.

This is not just news about fires; it’s a wake-up call! Will we let our city burn before our eyes? Will we continue to ignore the wind that carries the flames? Firefighters are our heroes, but heroes can’t do it alone. Responsibility lies with every citizen. If you have a funny story about fire or wind, or maybe some advice on how to deal with this hell, feel free to share in the comments. Let’s ignite a conversation, but not the city!

Remember, fire doesn’t choose, but we choose how to respond. Let’s be smarter than the flames!
