Planned Power Outages in Čačak: Who Will Be Left in the Dark and Why?

Hey Čačak residents, get your flashlights ready and light up those lanterns because another day without electricity is coming! Yes, you read that right – on Monday, June 30th, part of Čačak will be left in the dark. The Čačak Electric Distribution Company is planning to carry out work replacing poles and reconstructing the distribution network. Of course, all in the name of “improving power supply quality.” But let’s be real – how many times have we heard this story before?

Who’s getting left in the dark? The hamlets of Brezice and Lazino Brdo, along with consumers in those areas, will face this unpleasant surprise. While you prepare to survive a day without power, remember this is just part of a bigger infrastructure problem in Čačak and its surroundings. Years of water supply issues in the village of Bresnica and looming water shortages in Gornji Milanovac show the situation is far from ideal.

Why does this matter? Because electricity today is essential for everything – from household appliances to businesses. Every outage means lost time, money, and patience. Not to mention how miserable it is when it happens in the middle of summer, with air conditioners and fridges running full blast.

And while the government boasts about starting construction of a public garage in Čačak by year-end, and President Vučić promises pension hikes, ordinary people wonder – when will basic things like stable electricity supply finally get their turn?

If you’ve experienced these outages or have thoughts on the matter, drop a comment below. Is this just another one of those “unavoidable” problems, or is it time for real change? Share your experience, maybe together we’ll find a solution or at least a good reason to laugh while waiting for the power to come back on!
