A criminal investigation has been launched against Sara Netanyahu, the wife of the Israeli Prime Minister, for allegedly intimidating a witness in her husband’s corruption trial. The investigation is being conducted by the Israeli police and the cybercrime department. Sara Netanyahu was previously convicted for excessive spending of state funds on private meals. She was charged with embezzlement in 2018 but reached a plea deal with the court and received a reduced sentence in 2019.
