Dinner for 5: Primitivism, Ignorance and Chauvinistic Humor Destroy Culinary TV Shows

If you thought the cooking show “Dinner for 5” was just another TV format, think again! This show not only fails to contribute to gastronomy but seriously damages it. Five contestants competing in cooking look like they accidentally stumbled into the culinary world rather than understanding or loving it. The first contestant openly admits she doesn’t like cooking, and her experiments with butter and cheese are more comical than culinary. Other contestants engage in gossip, insults, and chauvinistic comments, with humor at the level of primitive tamburitza jokes at the end of the evening — crude and offensive. Appetizers consist of rolling cheese and salami, main dishes are overly creamy, and desserts are so bad that not even a dog would eat them. All this is seasoned with a dose of tasteless, chauvinistic humor that harms gastronomy. RTL production further fuels the atmosphere with tasteless comments and sound effects. Such content not only dumbs down viewers but tramples the very essence of gastronomy. While other shows focus on real gastronomy, “Dinner for 5” is a culinary nightmare to avoid. If you love food and decent TV content, this show is not for you. So, what do you think about this approach to culinary arts on television? Is it really entertainment or just a waste of time? Share your thoughts, maybe you’re not the only one who thinks it’s time for a change!
