Belgrade is back in the spotlight, but not for good reasons! Six people have been arrested on suspicion of planning a violent overthrow of Serbia’s constitutional order. Yes, you read that right – these folks met in the halls of the Electrical and Civil Engineering Faculties in Belgrade and plotted to violently topple the state system!
The arrested come from various cities: Zaječar, Smederevo, Kragujevac, Belgrade, Sombor, and Niš. This shocking revelation comes from the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, which, together with the Serbian Ministry of Interior, carried out the arrests.
According to the prosecutor’s statement, on June 20 and 21, in the mentioned faculty premises, the suspects planned attacks on state institutions, road blockades, and disruption of critical infrastructure across Serbia. The goal? To violently change the state order!
But wait, there’s more – at a meeting in the Civil Engineering Faculty, it’s suspected that an ultimatum for holding elections was confirmed. Not just any elections, but ones used as an excuse to apply violence. Even if their demand for elections in August was accepted, the participants admitted they wouldn’t win those elections!
The suspects have been detained for 48 hours and will be brought in for questioning. The operation is ongoing, and the public is stunned by this revelation.
Is this just the tip of the iceberg? Who’s really behind these plans? And how could such plotting happen inside university buildings?
