Take the Receipt and Win Lottery: Is It Worth the Effort or Just Another Tax Scam?

Take the Receipt and Win Lottery: Is It Worth the Effort or Just Another Tax Scam?

Have you heard about the “Take the Receipt and Win” lottery? If not, get ready for a real tax adventure that has already collected over 6.6 billion fiscal receipts! Yes, you read that right — billions! But is this game really a chance to win one of five luxury apartments in Belgrade or ten cars, or is it just another trick by the tax authorities to make you carefully keep every receipt?

How to participate?

All you need to do is register your account through the “Take the Receipt and Win” app available on Google Play, Apple, and Huawei platforms. There you enter your personal data: name, surname, address, ID card number, and phone number. Sounds simple, right? But are you ready to give all that information just for a chance to win an apartment or a car?

What can you win?

The prize fund is impressive: five duplex apartments of 91 square meters each in the Zemunske Kapije neighborhood in Belgrade, with a total value of 1.2 million euros. Besides apartments, there are ten Fiat Grande Panda cars, five electric and five hybrid. The first prize draw is scheduled for autumn and will be broadcast live on the First Program of Radio Television Serbia. In five shows, three winners will be drawn each time — two car winners and one apartment winner.

How many people are involved?

So far, over 20 million accounts have been registered, and more than 6.6 billion fiscal receipts with about 80 million unique codes have been sent. This means huge interest but also brutal competition for the prizes.

Is it all that great?

Of course, there is another side to the coin. Registration requires entering a lot of personal data, which can be a problem for those concerned about privacy. Also, with such a large number of participants, the chances that you will win an apartment or a car are minimal. So is it worth spending time and energy on this game, or is it just another way for the tax authorities to collect data and increase control?

Conclusion

The “Take the Receipt and Win” lottery is certainly interesting and can be an opportunity to win valuable prizes. But you have to be realistic and understand that the competition is huge and the chances are small. If you like to play and don’t mind sharing your data, why not? But if you are skeptical, maybe it’s better to keep your receipts for other reasons.

What about you? Are you already registered? Or do you think this is just another tax scam? Drop a comment, let’s see who’s for and who’s against this game!
