New Russian Tactics in Donbas: Motorcycle Charges and Deadly Drones Change the War

The war in Donbas is entering a new phase, and Russia has cooked up a tactic straight out of an apocalyptic movie! Motorcycle charges, riding cheap Chinese bikes at speeds of 80 km/h, have become a weapon to break through Ukrainian defenses. But don’t expect these riders to come home alive – most end up as prey for drones or artillery. Yes, you read that right – these are literally suicide missions! Lieutenant Yevgen from the 28th Ukrainian Brigade calls them “modern horsemen” who are increasingly appearing on the battlefield, exhausting Ukrainian forces and draining resources.

Drones are a nightmare for the Russians – causing up to 70% of their losses. These deadly flying robots track every move, target supply lines, and force soldiers to walk kilometers on foot because transport vehicles have become easy targets. Ukraine is not giving up – it produces up to four million drones annually, with 1.5 million already deployed on the front lines!

At the front near Pokrovsk, one of the last Ukrainian strongholds in Donbas, the fighting is fierce. Russian forces have deployed over 110,000 troops in an attempt to capture this strategic city rich in lithium, dubbed “white gold” for its importance to the energy industry. Despite numerical and technical superiority, Russia has yet to take control.

Ukraine uses electric motorcycles for quieter transport and has effective countermeasures against kamikaze drones, while Russia is introducing special units trained to ride motorcycles and quad bikes. All this creates a gray zone between the two armies, where positions are fluid and soldiers live in dugouts and basements.

This drone and motorcycle war is not just a fight for territory but a battle for the future of warfare. Who will come out on top? And you, what do you think about these “modern horsemen” and deadly drones? Drop a comment, maybe your conspiracy theory or joke will break the monotony of this bloody saga!
