Chaos in Belgrade: Students and Citizens Block the City, Police Crack Down and Arrest

Belgrade has turned into a battlefield of blockades and protests! Students and citizens took over bridges, intersections, and main roads using containers, fences, and even tents to stop the city. Police early in the morning started breaking up the blockades and arrested several people, but the demonstrators are not giving up — they promise new actions. In Novi Sad, Čačak, Niš, and other cities, the situation is similar, with blockades causing traffic chaos and huge jams. It all started after the arrest of students suspected of planning a violent change of the constitutional order, and the prosecution claims that students planned attacks on state institutions and blockades of critical infrastructure. Police arrested 29 people, with a total of 77 detained during the protests. Videos and notes allegedly proving the planning of blockades and attacks have appeared on social media. Authorities warn about the danger of violence and spreading false information, while citizens and students say this is not the end and they will continue the fight. Traffic is slowly normalizing, but many city lines are still not running. Is this the beginning of a new era of protests or just another episode in the endless conflict on the streets of Serbia? Join the conversation and tell us what you think — are the students heroes or hooligans? Or maybe something in between?
