Chaos in Serbian Streets: Vučević and Vučić vs. Blockades and Violence

Are you ready for another street spectacle in Serbia? While students and the opposition block traffic and create chaos, Miloš Vučević and Aleksandar Vučić are not backing down an inch! Vučević clearly stated there is no chance Vučić will call elections because of containers and blockades. “Nothing of the sort will happen!” he declared, describing how 16 people terrorized millions of citizens across Serbia, turning their Sunday afternoon into a nightmare.

On the other side, students and the opposition are not giving up. Their demands are clear: boycott the parliament, call for fair elections, fight corruption, and express dissatisfaction with the ruling policies. But Vučević and Vučić call them puppets, accuse them of violence, and say they have lost public support. Vučević even claimed that students want money to go to Dragan Đilas, want Serbs declared a genocidal people, and want Kosovo’s independence recognized!

The situation escalated in Belgrade and Novi Sad where road blockades with containers caused chaos, and SNS offices were pelted with eggs. Police had to intervene, and Vučić announced he expects violence and that the state will be defended. He promised that perpetrators will be arrested and prosecuted, while simultaneously calling for peace and understanding.

All this is happening amid massive protests that the government calls a “color revolution,” while students and the opposition claim they fight for justice and Serbia’s future. Vučić even stated that the blockades had three times fewer people than before, which the government sees as a sign of declining protest popularity.

In this chaos, citizens suffer the most – they cannot live, work, or rest normally. As political games continue, Serbia burns with conflicts and tensions. Will this ever calm down? Or will we see even more containers on the streets and clashes?

If you have your own take on all this, or maybe you’ve already been stuck in a blockade, drop a comment below. Who knows, maybe your story will break the monotony of this political merry-go-round!
