Adriatic Prices 2025: Tourist Paradise or Wallet Wrecker?

Welcome to 2025 on the Adriatic coast, where prices have skyrocketed and your wallet is screaming in pain! The summer season is in full swing, beaches are filling up, but get ready – a vacation on the Montenegrin coast now requires a much deeper pocket than ever before.

Prices That Shock

Accommodation in Budva starts at 60 euros per night for an apartment, and that’s just the beginning. Renting two sunbeds and an umbrella? Prepare to pay around 25 euros. A coffee and a slice of pizza? About 3 euros. A family meal at a restaurant? Get ready to spend 50 euros. Cheesecake in a Budva restaurant costs a staggering 15 euros, while a kilogram of lamb is 4 euros, and pork 3 euros.

Where Are the Affordable Prices?

If you think that’s all, wait! Locations like the Bay of Kotor, Kotor, Tivat, and Porto Montenegro attract tourists with deeper pockets – prices are even higher there. On the other hand, the southern parts of the coast, such as Bar, Sutomore, Čanj, and Šušanj, offer somewhat more affordable prices: sunbeds cost 15-20 euros, coffee around 2 euros, and a meal for a family of four about 30 euros.

How Do Tourists Cope?

Bojana Jovanović from Užice, who spends her summer in Montenegro, says she eats out less during the holidays and mostly buys groceries in stores, where prices are similar or even lower than in Serbia. This has become the most affordable option for her family’s summer vacation.

Traffic Jams – Another Big Problem

Besides prices, a huge problem this season is massive traffic jams. Roadworks on the Jaz-Tivat section cause long queues, and locals even block traffic on key roads to the coast. Similar jams have been reported on the Podgorica-Budva, Podgorica-Bar sections, and the Sozina tunnel.

Conclusion

The Adriatic coast in 2025 is no longer just a tourist paradise but a test of your financial patience. If you’re planning a vacation, prepare for high costs and traffic headaches. But hey, maybe it’s time we all ask ourselves – is this still the old, affordable Adriatic or just a luxury paradise for the rich?
