Finally, some good news for Montenegro and tourists from Israel – flights between Tivat and Tel Aviv are back! After a period of uncertainty due to geopolitical tensions, flights will resume starting tomorrow. This means the tourist flow from Israel is stabilizing and continuing. But don’t get too excited just yet – traffic jams on the Adriatic highway are still a nightmare. The Ministry of Tourism has ordered the traffic management and regional waterworks to deliver a detailed report within five days on the state of the highway and proposals to reduce traffic jams. Will it help? Probably not much, since roadworks are ongoing and traffic jams remain a daily headache. Police will beef up their presence in the south during the summer season, bringing in 20 officers from the region to assist local security forces. Tourism Minister Simona Kordić also announced an extension of the public discussion on the draft tourism law until the end of July, aiming for better legislation with input from experts and the public. Overall, Montenegro is trying, but traffic problems and bureaucracy still hold back tourism growth. Got a story or opinion? Drop a comment – maybe together we’ll find a fix or at least have a laugh about the highway chaos!
