Thousands of Protesters Block Belgrade Over Illegal Student Arrests

Belgrade exploded last night! Thousands of students and citizens blocked Savska Street in front of the Palace of Justice over illegal arrests of dozens of students following a massive protest the day before. The police responded brutally, arresting over 80 students, with around 30 detained. The charges? Allegedly planning a violent change of Serbia’s constitutional order! Is this a fight for justice or just another crackdown on freedom? Protesters blew whistles and chanted “Free them all!” and “Vučić, go away!”. Police were deployed all around the Palace of Justice, ready to silence any voice of dissent. The blockades spread to Niš, Novi Sad, Čačak, Smederevo, and Kragujevac. Is this the dawn of a new protest era or just another day of citizens’ rights being trampled? Students and citizens are announcing new blockades and gatherings. What about you? Freedom or silence under pressure? Drop a comment, maybe your word will spark something big!
