Academic Community Protests in Front of the Government of Serbia

Members of the academic community and students have been protesting for seven days in front of the Government of Serbia, blocking the intersection of Nemanjina and Kneza Miloša streets. The protests, organized under the name “Rebel University,” demand the fulfillment of three key requests: the dissolution of the working group for amendments to the higher education law, the abolition of the decree on university work standards, and the approval of budget quotas for faculty admissions by the end of June. Students have announced a new protest for June 28 in Belgrade. These protests cause traffic congestion and receive public support, while authorities seek solutions through dialogue and analysis of the higher education situation.
