The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo sentenced Adem Šuman to 40 years in prison for the murder of Faris Pendek. The incident occurred on January 28 when Šuman, without any reason, blocked the road of four friends in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Otoka, then fired a shot from his car that hit Faris in the chest, killing him. Additionally, Šuman inflicted minor injuries on two of the friends. Another accused, Elmedin Gradišić, was sentenced to one year in prison for aiding after the crime, while Merdim Saljević was acquitted. The mother of the murdered Faris expressed regret that the sentence was not 45 years but is satisfied with the verdict and wishes the convicted to feel the pain she constantly endures.
