Alarming Traffic Accident Numbers in Montenegro: Young Drivers Under Deadly Threat

Did you know that since the start of the year, 27 people have died in traffic accidents in Montenegro? Yes, you read that right – 27 lives lost on the roads! And it gets worse. A third of all accidents happened in just a few hours at night, between midnight and 6 AM. And it doesn’t stop there – three drivers, all young people aged 18 to 22, were responsible for nine of those deadly crashes during that time. Is this just bad luck or a wake-up call? The police and traffic authorities are urging parents to step up and take a more active role in guiding their kids, especially about responsible driving.

Recently, a woman was arrested in Podgorica after she drove her car into a crowd in front of a church, injuring two people. This isn’t an isolated incident but part of a bigger problem on the roads. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, speeding, and reckless behavior are the main culprits behind these grim statistics.

Parents, it’s time to wake up! Your kids are on the front lines of risk. Talk to them, watch over them, and don’t let these tragedies happen again. Only by working together – families, police, and society – can we reduce the number of deaths and make our roads safer for everyone. So, what do you think? Is it time for tougher laws, or is the problem deeper? Drop a comment and let’s get the conversation rolling!
